Our Story

Neil and Bud have been friends since they started playing football together down in Griffith Park 20 years ago. Since then, they’ve travelled all over the world, disagreed on many things, but always agreed on great coffee. They say luck is what happens when timing meets preparation. The timing of Bud coming home from Australia and wanting to try to open business before he returned to the world of journalism, and the closure of nightclubs rendering Neil temporarily unemployed, met the preparation of both lads of always wanting to start a business in their area and the love of great coffee. Thus, Bua was born.

Bua is Irish for “Victory” or “Win”.
